Knob Noster Public Schools is seeking a dynamic, focused, and visionary Retired Air Force Field Grade Commissioned Officer to serve as the Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Senior Aerospace Science Instructor, for MO-20052, comprised of 125 high performing cadets from four local high schools for the 2026-2027 school year. The successful candidate will demonstrate diverse professional knowledge, a vision of excellence, a student-centered focus, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.


POSITION: Senior Aerospace Science Instructor for the 2026-2027 School Year

 

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 11 or 12 month contract, Compensation in accordance with JSIPS, plus stipend for co-curricular activities, health insurance (employee) provided

 

QUALIFICATIONS: Retired Field Grade Officer with 20 or more years experience in the military (Active Duty, Air National Guard and/or Air Force Reserves). Previous leadership (supervisory) experience, at least 15 years active duty and Bachelor's Degree required. Extensive knowledge of classroom management and instruction, physical training, drill and ceremonies, and possessing a Master’s Degree, Missouri Teacher’s certification, aviation experience and certified ground school instructor are all highly desired.

Working Conditions: Maintain emotional control under stress. Daily attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of the job. Frequent district, inter/intra-state travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours; outdoor exposure to sun, heat and cold.
